Radio/Spectrum Licence Search

Enter data in one or more input boxes below to narrow down your search.

For example:
Entering a Frequency Lower of 88, a Frequency Upper of 108 and a District of Wellington, will result in a list of all frequencies in the range 88 - 108 MHz in the Wellington region only.

 

Frequency (MHz):

Enter frequencies up to six decimal places (e.g. 55.026025 MHz). To search for one frequency, enter details in Frequency Lower only. To search for a range of frequencies, enter details in Frequency Lower and Frequency Upper.

Channel:

Enter the Channel name or number. The search will look for all channels containing the entered data. For example: Entering "FM101" will find all licences on channel FM101 (there are no other channels containing "FM101"). Entering "CX10" will find all licences on channels CX10, CX101, ACX10, ACX100, ESCX10... etc. Note: Not all frequencies have a channel associated with them.

Callsign:

Enter a Callsign. The search will look for all callsigns containing the entered data. For example: "ZMBS" - ship "ZL6OTC" - amateur "ZKNGD" - aircraft

Licensee Name:

Enter a Licensee Name. The search will look for all Licensees containing the entered data. For example: Entering "phone" will find "Radiotelephone Services", "Telephone Equipment Ltd"... etc. Entering "smith" will find "Smith", Haysmith", "Smithies"... etc. To search for more than one Licensee, separate entries in the text box with a comma: "smith,brown,jones".

District:

Select a District from the drop-down list. The district boundaries can be viewed via the "View map of district boundaries" option. The boundaries coincide with the edges of the NZMS260 series maps .

Transmitter Location:

Enter a Transmitter Location name. The search will look for all Transmitter Locations containing the entered data. For example: Entering "Kaukau" will find "Kaukau", "Mt Kaukau", "Waikaukau Point"... etc. To search for more than one Transmitter Location, separate entries in the text box with a comma: "Kaukau,Towai,Tinakori".

Licence Type:

Enter a Licence Type code. The Licence Type codes categorize different licence types which can be viewed via the "View licence type codes" option. You can then sort the Licence Type list by description or code.

Licence Category:

Select a Licence Category from the drop-down list. Licences can be either Radio or Spectrum Licences.

Management Right Number:

Enter a Management Right number. All Spectrum Licences are registered under a Management Right. A current list of management rights is available from the Other Reports page.
